SUNSCREEN IN WINTER

Protecting Your Skin Health

Many of us have the wrong idea about winters and sunscreen. It is important to remember that the sun functions in enigmatic ways throughout all seasons: the sun rays affect your skin even in its intense chilly rays. You can almost imagine the UV rays plunging through each pore of your skin without even realising it

During the winter months, there are a variety of ways you could benefit from wearing sunscreen apart from keeping your skin radiant and healthy throughout the year.

IMPORTANCE OF SUNSCREENS

1. YOU CAN STILL GET A SUNBURN

The torching rays are sometimes alluded to as UVB rays, a kind of sunburn-causing ultraviolet rays. Even if during the summers those beams are harsher, during the winters they can also cause sun burns. Interestingly, around the winter months, the sun is closest to the earth, causing the risk of much stronger sun exposure.

2. DECREASES YOUR RISK OF CANCER

UVB rays are the kind of rays that could be associated with cancer of the skin. Around these winter months, these waves are still very intense. You will lower the chances of developing skin cancer by just applying sunscreen to your skin each morning. For the maximum safety, we consider using an EltaMD sunscreen which is SPF30 or better.

3. SNOW REFLECTS SUN RAYS

Combined both the snow and sun reflect UV rays. If you are interested in a snow sport, we suggest wearing an EltaMD sunscreen item with an SPF of 30 to 50. Only because it's colder doesn't mean that the sun and Ultra violet rays have lost their strength.

BEST SUNSCREEN PRODUCTS TO USE

Cetaphils SUN SPF 50 Lightweight gel is ideal for the skin and body, and is designed for sensitive/greasy skin. Photostable UV filters provide highly effective defense against UVA and UVB. Clear of Scent and Full of Paraben

Lakme's Sunscreen SPF 50 PA lotion is great as a lightweight cream and can be applied every day and throughout the year. It helps alleviate sunburns, black spots and premature ageing.

It offers superior controlled broad-spectrum defense against skin-aging UVA and damaging UVB rays stabilised with Helioplex and blends it with Dry Touch Technology for your ultra-light, non-shiny texture while moisturising the skin.

OMCs (Oxybenzone and Octyl methoxycinnamate) are commonly used chemical agents used in sunscreens that absorb deeper into the skin, causing allergic reactions, hormonal problems, and irritation to the skin that contributes to inflammation and clogged pores. An OMC free product this lotion is specifically designed for oily/acne sensitive skin with low penetration. It offers a single use cycle with 6 hours guarantee.

We believe that sunscreen must be used proactively throughout the year indoors and outdoors. What’s not to love? One product helps your skin in numerous ways and all it takes is a 2 minute application at the most.

Sun-shield yourself this winter!
