What is Seasonal Skincare?
Constants & Variants

Skincare needs to be part of your daily routine irrespective of the season. It changes accordingly for different seasons but the basic routine remains the same. It is important to educate ourselves on a skincare routine befitting the season.
Here, we will go through all 4 seasons in Indian Summer, Monsoons, Fall and Winter and how basic skincare should remain the same plus some additions or variations we need to make along across different seasons:
5 Constant Skincare Routine which needs to be followed irrespective of the Season:
Sunscreen with good SPF

Application Of Sunscreen of SPF 30 or more is absolutely necessary, especially in the scorching heat.
If you repeatedly drop the usage of sunscreen, you can visually observe your skin getting loose and an appearance of fine lines.
Serums

Don’t let your day go off without applying Serums. They have recently entered the market and are here to stay. You can find a variety of serums these days like Night Serums, Vitamin C, AHA & BHA etc. They are important to nourish your skin and are extremely effective to give that glow while tightening your pores.
Eye Cream

Eye Creams have become an absolute necessity, irrespective of the fact that you have dark circles or puffiness. Choose a nice eye cream and apply it day or night for that ‘never-tired-eyes’ look.
Face Masks

We cannot stress enough the magic of Face masks. Salon-like treatment can be received at home with that one good face mask. These days masks are readily available in different varieties like honey, cucumber, strawberry, clay, etc.
Moisturisers

Moisturisers are the ultimate requirement of your skin. No matter what skin type you have, they are important to lock in that moisture. Skipping it, will tend your skin to produce more sebum or oil to make up the moisture loss in the skin which in turn could lead acne. Regular usage also prevents dehydrated or dull skin.
Other Add ons/Variants based on the Indian seasons:
SUMMER:
Face Toner

In summers, our skin loses moisture frequently and looks tired. Face toners help in removing that tired look and adds refreshness in your summer evenings.
Face Cleanser

You should definitely carry a Face cleanser in your bag all the time. Due to summer winds and walking in heat, the face might attract a lot of dust, so it is important to clean it regularly.
MONSOON:
Setting Spray

Monsoons and makeup use dont go usually go hand in hand unless you meticulously choose waterproof makeup. A water proof setting spray to fix your makeup is an added makeup and Skincare solution.
Clay Mask

Try adding the habit of using a Clay mask during Monsoons. You can use it once a week to remove that extra greasiness from your face.
FALL:
Rich Moisturiser

If you were using oil free or water based moisturizers regularly, it's time to use richer and creamier ones because you need a denser product to penetrate into dry skin especially at the onset of winter.
Vitamin C Serum

If you are skipping this step, it is time to add it to your regime. You can use other face serums during day time. But during the night, use vitamin C to provide active nourishment to your skin.
WINTER:
Exfoliator

It makes the skin more glowy and removes the dead cells, especially in the full winter. A small drop is enough but don’t overdo it with the scrubbing. Gentle movements will help soothe and condition the skin.
Cream Cleanser

Shift from aggressive face cleansers towards oil or cream based cleanser: These keep skin hydrated without disrupting the skin’s oil barrier.
Once you have made a habit with every seasons 5 constants, you can easily add or alter some steps in your skincare depending on seasons and skin type.
Here’s to healthy & glowing skin no matter the season!
