Fall in love

Fall 2020 Beauty Trends

The makeup market has improved and grown once again in the 2020s. We looked back into how the beauty landscape has evolved since 2010, and now we look forward to another 10 years. We counted on fashion predictors, makeup shoppers and company founders to express their forecasts of makeup trends for 2020 and beyond with us.

There is a makeup theme below that will talk to each and every one of us. Think of the following as your own glimpse into a crystal ball of perfection.

Hair

1. THE LOW TWISTED ROPE BRAID

Huge braided ponytails, perched atop with topknots have been characterised as an attention gainer over the past few years. We're actually moving down a peg or two with small patterns in more intricate designs this fall. We are making a new entry into the fall with the upcoming hair aesthetics like the low braid or a tangled-rope. Prior to actually braiding the underside, Tresemmé stylists have pulled the hair back and then double warped it for a twine effect.

2. WASH N GO

It's no wonder that wash-and-go looks have reached an all-time peak, as we have minimal proximity to hairstylists, salons and, well, mostly everyone right now. That said, a passion for our natural hair texture is a marvelous reverence to ‘lockdown locks’

For thinner hair, what you really want is a volumizing cream and something that's a little more moisturising for dense or curly forms. Washing days could get dramatic, but it looks so pleasing to have great second-day hair.

MAKE UP

1. THE CLASSIC RED LIP

Yup, the classic red lip is still going to be there, through the Fall. It's a masterpiece and even though #socialdistancing is the norm, it's always fun to bold it out. A look that is all at once positive, strong, and stunning. Red lipstick is eternal and it adds a hint of colour to the elegant ‘in-fashion’ sheer makeup.

2. THE SOFT WASH

A nuanced, velvety look still comes close well behind elevated-octane glamour. Artists aimed for less complexity this fall, a look that emphasises a softer shadow splash with a single hue. It's simple to duplicate (assume: minimal blending) and can be applied with just your fingertips. You can go minimalistic with earth tones, or attach a sheer splash of colour with fall classics.

NAILS

1. THE DRAMATIC NAIL

There’s been a twist to the natural nude colour this fall. The time is to experiment with nails that are a tad out there. Nails with lace, 3-D accessories, and colour tones of bold, glitter are not only enjoyable at the moment but could just enliven a dull spirit. Plus they’ve been ruling the international runways this season. At its best – its conformism and a thrilling split from modernist shades and barely-there styles.

2. THE NEW TAKE ON A CLASSIC FRENCH

Artists are heading towards a cooler twist on the vintage look instead of keeping to the conventional French manicure, a plain nude with such a white edge. The look is fun and keeping with the fall 2020 colour palette. Its a new take on the delicate French tip but with an added edgy spirit.

‘Change is the only constant’ they say and why not if the beauty trends of fall sum up an uproar and twist to the mundane. It’s time to experiment and have fun..

It’s time to FALL (yes pun intended) in love with experimenting!
