The enchanting holiday season brings along some winter skin woes. Nobody enjoys having chapped and dry lips. Your lips add to your personality and make you appear even more gorgeous, but you may have noticed that they grow dry and you start peeling the skin off your lips from time to time. Because the skin that protects our lips is thin, they grow dry and chapped, especially in the winters.

Where over-the-counter lip balms are available aplenty, we know some of you like old school home remedies, with all natural ingredients in the mix.

1. Virgin Coconut Oil and Grapeseed Bleed


Virgin coconut oil is beneficial not only to the skin and hair, but also to the lips.

Why Does This Work?

The fatty acids in virgin coconut oil moisturise and nourish your lips, making this home treatment effective.

Grapeseed oil aids in the healing process and speeds up recuperation.

Requirements

Get some grapeseed oil and virgin coconut oil.

If you don't have virgin coconut oil or grapeseed oil, try a carrier oil and an essential oil combo, such as olive oil and jojoba oil or almond oil and neem oil.

Procedure

Apply one to two drops of both oils on your lips and rub them together.

When Should You Use It?

This treatment should be used two to three times each day.

It can also be used in the early morning or right before bedtime.


2. Honey and Petroleum Jelly


Not only is virgin coconut oil good for the skin and hair, but it's also good for the lips.

Cut the leaf sideways and drain the gel into an airtight container if you have it.

One spoon sugar with one spoon cream (malai).

Procedure

Use fresh cream extracted from milk and mix it with sugar. Apply the mixture to your lips and scrub for at least five minutes before washing off with normal water. Doing this daily will help you get better results! You can also use it overnight.

A single green tea bag and a cup of boiling water are all you need.

Place the bag on your lips and hold it there for a few moments.
