Bridal Makeup Made Simple

Easy Steps Ahead

Brides are the centre on attention on their wedding day, and why not! It’s their day to look stunning and have fun while doing so. Everything should be on point from the wedding wear, to jewellery & to makeup.

When we talk about make-up, one thing we know for sure is that the bride has hired a professional make-up artist. Hiring either a professional or if you’d like even your friend doing your make-up, when applying it you must consider and follow certain steps. The steps which will give you the perfect look. Make sure that the artist does wonders with the way you look.

A lil bridal makeup guide for the bride-to-be:

1. Primer

It works just as the way regular primer works, it helps even out the skin texture. Making a smooth base for the makeup to follow. Do remember just a thin layer of primer will do. The idea is to spread it evenly across the neck and face and let it settle in for a few seconds before going to the next step. This application can be done with your fingers but we prefer a foundation brush for even coverage.

2. Concealer

With the overload of wedding planning stress your skin may start to show the signs of dullness. The less attention you give to your skin may result in dark circles and maybe some dark spots too. Thats where concealers come into play. Less is more when it comes to a concealers. Use it sparingly just where needed and blend into your skin.

3. Foundation

Then comes in the foundation or base. Apply this outwards blending into your skin. Choose a foundation thats as close to your skin tone has a sunscreen and a moisturizer. When it comes to bridal make-up this one works as essential. But we at PKMH do not believe in caking it up. Keep your look natural and clean. Remember a foundation is just to even out your skin tone not to mask your features.

4. Eye Makeup

Focus on your eyes and lashes- This is the complex part that you would not want to get wrong. Bad eye makeup can ruin your look. You can choose to be dramatic or simple as per your choice. We suggest opting for versatility. Your eyes should complement your attire. Put on that winged liner, Ofcourse water proof one. Add on some colorful eye-shadow or keep it in neural bronze and gold tones with a little glitter and finish the eyes with fake lashes to give you a dramatic look or just use lash lengthening and defining mascara if you want to keep it natural.

5. Highlight/Blush/Contour

After completing the overall look you need something which gives you that extra glow. Apply the highlighter at the right place. Put it on your check bones, the bridge of your nose and on the corner of your eyes. This gives you 3 dimension look to your makeup while making you glow like a diva. Add a blush to your cheekbones - not too much though - it should look like a healthy flush.

To finish off the face makeup contour your jawline, the hollow of your cheeks and at the sides of your nose to bring in definition.

6. Lips

Make sure your lips are moisturised before putting on some lipstick. Make your pout noticeable and in contrast to your wedding dress. It should preferably be on the brighter side considering #SpringSummer is upon us. You can add colors like matt red, a fuschia pink and even a shimmery coral or go for pastel pinks.

As a bride it’s always nice to know what you’re going to be in for when working with a professional artist. It helps them understand what you’d like better and saves some precious time on your D-Day.

You can choose to carry on with these steps and give yourself a makeover for some of your functions too. These steps got you covered up even if you are not opting for a professional artist. The idea is to feel like a princess & look like a queen.

The inner glow of the upcoming wedded bliss will do the rest.

Bride on!
